We organize social events throughout the year. Our most anticipated event is the end of year party which is an all night event involving the preparation of dishes from countries across Africa. This is a fun activity for all members, families, children, and everyone in the Bakersfield community.

College & Scholarship Application Day is next Saturday 2/24
AAKC educators will offer advice and help to HS seniors on their college applications, financial aid, and scholarship application, personal statements and essays
Education Day is 5/4
shall include a talk on parenting the African child in the diaspora and the annual AAKC Education Awards.
Juneteenth celebration (6/19)
AAKC will join the greater Bakersfield community to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday.
African Business Forum (TBA)
an opportunity for African business owners to educate our community about their businesses and talk about the challenges and opportunities for Black business owners in Kern County.
AAKC Picnic & Community Outreach (8/24)
AAKC will partner with a homeless shelter to feed & cloth the homeless. 9. The AAKC Food & Culture Festival will take place on 10/12/2024 at the Bakersfield Fairgrounds 10. The AAKC End of year gala will be held on 12/14.
